Dear friends who enjoy praising God through music and song! This year marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Reformation. And, while there are of course many differences that divide us both as Synods and even sometimes within Synods – the one constant across the divide is the heritage of music that we share. Over the years many have penned their confession in Word and Music proclaiming that we believe we are saved by the Grace of God, through Faith as taught through the Word of God. We’d like to invite those who are interested, to join the Lutheran Chorale in a mutual celebration with this music on October 29th at 7:30 at Bethlehem Lutheran in Lakewood. Please share this with the musicians in your congregations. We will have ways for both instrumentalists and singers to be involved and it can be in whatever depth of participation works best for each musician. They can join us Monday evenings to learn Bach’s Cantata 80 starting in September. Or if they’d rather be part of the less demanding Chorales, join us for the last Monday and Saturday rehearsals. Please contact us if you are interested and let’s welcome the 500th anniversary with a rousing concert celebrating our rich heritage.
