Learning and Growing Opportunities this Summer
Worship & Teaching
Summer Sermon Series – When in Romans? — This summer in worship we will spend time following the Lectionary Epistle Readings, which bring us through selections of the book of Romans. Paul’s gospel message to the church in Rome will be a blessing to us.
Summer Discipleship Hour – We are the hands, feet and voice of our Lord Jesus. He works through our gifts and talents, giving our lives meaning and purpose. We call His work in us the Doctrine of Vocation. This summer we’re going to read through a book by Dr. Gene Veith, titled GOD AT WORK and spend our time in Discipleship Hour reflecting upon and discussing how the Lord works through each of us in His world. If you would like to purchase a book, we have them for sale starting this Sunday. Cost: $10 | Meet in the Community Room.
For Kids
Summer Sunday School – “The Kid’s Summer Crew!” — Begins June 7th during Sunday School. This will be a time during the Sunday School hour for kids to gather to learn about Jesus and spend time with their friends in a laid-back environment. All ages (up to 5th grade) will be combined, but there will be different activities for different ages.
Bible Studies
Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study – The Book of 1st Kings | 7am, Community Room, led by Pr. Tim — Men’s Breakfast Bible Study.
Ron Schuldt’s Sunday Morning Study – Lifelight Bible Study | Conf Rm A, led by Ron Schuldt. In this study the group utilizes materials from Lifelight to take a deep dive into the scriptures.
Gloria Patton’s Sunday Morning Study – Knowing Him Better, Loving Him More [Women’s study] | Sr. Pastor’s office, led by Gloria Patton. All women invited.
Beth Nagy’s Sunday Morning Study – The Secret of Being Content – A Journey Through Philippians by Lindsay Haussch [Women’s study] | Office, led by Beth Nagy. Study on contentment: we all know what it is like to experience it, yet it can feel hard to identify how we cultivate it in our daily lives.
Melissa Erdmann’s Sunday Morning Study – Story Runners [begins June 7th] | Conf Rm B. In this class, we will learn how to tell Bible stories from memory, but not word-for-word. It will deepen our Faith and equip us to share with others.
Thursday Evening – The Book of Acts [Young Adult Bible Study] — Lindeman home (see Pr. Tim for address) | 2nd Thursday, 7pm. Group led. Ages 20s & 30s. Learning stories of the early Christians & exploring how their story is now our story.
Life Support Classes
Thursday Evening: Divorce Care – A Life Support Class | 6:30pm, Conf Rm A — led by Sharon Nigh and Stephen Taylor.
Saturday Mornings: GriefShare – A Life Support Class | 10am, a 13-week class, Conf Rm A — led by Sharon Nigh and Stephen Taylor.
