This Week at Peace

Worship:
  • Sunday we conclude our Straight from the Heart series. Next week we begin Weird, a series looking at the Christian lifestyle and how our culture perceives us as weird.
Connect:
  • Sunday is the last day to order Peace T-Shirts. Order sheets are at the Serve Counter.
Serve:
  • Sunday School will have a different look to it come September. The new curriculum called Kingdom Quest will have a lot of exciting new features. One of those new features are puppets that enhance the curriculum. Your News & Notes will have more information on how to adopt or sponsor one of these puppets or you can talk with Lisa Lindeman.
  • Joshua Hofmeister and Carmen Vigil will speak briefly about Adventures in Missions at the end of each service. Come visit with them in the cafe area and enjoy some treats and learn more about how they will be serving. This is their last fundraiser before they leave in September.

Blessings on Your Week!

From the Board of Stewardship:

Every so often the board of Stewardship would like to share how your tithes and offerings are furthering Christ’s Kingdom.  Many of us don’t realize all the wonderful ministries in effect within our own walls, what they do and how they reach existing, new and unbelievers with Christ’s saving word.  We recently sat down with Polly Wegner, our Director of Discipleship, to better understand just that.  To quote Polly:

“The favorite part of my job is working with new members.  Seeing their enthusiasm and hearing how our church first impresses them is heart-warming.  Then to be part of the Sunday morning class discussions when they are asking deep questions of faith, it is really the Holy Spirit working!  Interviewing these new members and hearing their stories of faith, doubt, God working in their lives... it humbles me.  In almost every class we have someone who is a brand new Christian and I am in awe of how God works, never giving up on calling them to faith in Him.  Hearing their stories is almost a sacred privilege!”
