Comfort

I donʻt watch the news anymore. I found itʻs robs me of my joy. Most of the time, this happens because so much of our news is manufactured by the different news agencies, strictly to bolster their ratings. The other reason is that the media, in general, is just so negative. (I guess negativity sells) Itʻs cruel that the nightly news is broadcast at bedtime. Watching at that time can produce some pretty horrifying dreams!
Without a doubt, last week was one of the most difficult times in my life. Three friends died; one child died and another is in critical condition due to another sensless shooting in Evergreen. On top of all of that, one of our church workers was severly injured in an accident and then we received the disurbing news about Charlie Kirk. Yikes! No wonder why I felt sick to my stomach!
I am soooo happy Iʻm a Christian! I know that no matter what happens in my life, Jesus is there for me. Just like Jesus calmly sleeping in the boat with his disciples during a vicious storm. Heʻs got this. With all the storms that happen in our lives, we can be assured that Jesus has the issue well in hand. John 16:33 Jesus said; “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”. How do we know that Jesus is in our “boat” or in our corner? Because we talk to him constantly and He, to us. In 1Thessalonians 5:16-17, Paul tells us to Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Pray!! Pray without ceasing! Keep Jesus close, he wants to hear from us and He will always be there for us!
I once heard Charlie Kirk say, “Scripture is the ultimate source of truth, wisdom and guidence for faith, family and Freedom.” Amen!
NOW, TAKE COMFORT! Blessings on your week. A NEW week!
