Trust Me, It’ll Be Okay
So as you’ll all see on Sunday we’ve got a lot of things going on here at Peace! Man, talk about a stressful process. We’re getting new speakers up, making improvements to the livestream, getting ready for Advent and Christmas. It’s been nuts around here! I’ll be honest, times like this can be incredibly stressful as the music and tech director. There’s been a lot of opportunities to work on my faith and trust in God’s timing, I’ll tell you that much. You know what’s funny? We always seem (at least I do) to get nervous when I have to give up control and trust in whatever God has in store. Every single time He’s carried me through in the perfect way, but man, it’s still hard sometimes!
We dug into 2 Timothy 3 at the staff Bible study this week and MAN did it pop out at the right time for me. Especially verses 10-17. Paul goes on to describe to Timothy examples of all the ways God has brought him through hardship and blessed him. I don’t know about you, but reading that always strikes a chord with me.
It lets me know that there WILL be times of trial, times that are hard, low points; but we have a God that will carry us through all of it with the power of His Word. I think that sometimes we can focus a lot on the fact that we’re being tested in our life, rather than focusing on the things we’re going to learn from it and how safe and made strong we are by God as His Word.
I guess the point I’m getting at is expect tough seasons in your life. Expect things to go wrong sometimes. Expect trials. Bummer, I know, but that’s not where I’m ending with this. Also expect that through the Word and our Father that we are equipped and well prepared for times such as that. We have the greatest tools possible to fight through them. Prayer, and the Word. Time and time again God shows up in our lives in the most incredible of ways, at the perfect moment. God’s always telling us, “Trust me, It’ll be okay.”
