Summer Blessings

Psalm 150 NIV

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
    praise him for his surpassing greatness.
 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
    praise him with the harp and lyre,
 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
    praise him with the strings and pipe,
 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
    praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Summer is such a special time to me. A time that our kids are home more, sports have slowed, the sun is bright, and we travel a lot. We get to see family. To see and experience new places and really enjoy God’s great creations.

I was able to take our daughter on a mother-daughter trip a couple weeks ago to Telluride while the boys did a Jeep trip in Moab. We read books, went to the spa, and hiked to some beautiful waterfalls. It was much needed one on one time.  We hiked Bridal Veil Falls, a moderate in difficulty hike and only about 3 miles round trip.  It was beautiful! All along the way Ella would stop to take pictures. Pictures of moss on rocks and trees, flowers that were stunning in shape and color and of course the incredible waterfalls.  When we got to the top we just stood in awe. This beautiful waterfall that was tucked in this mountain. Looking down at the waterfall there was a rainbow. My eyes filled with tears. God created this. What an incredible gift!

“…Praise Him for His surpassing greatness.” Psalm 150:2

God has blessed us with His surpassing greatness. We need to stop, enjoy, and praise Him. Thank you, God, for summer. Thank you for the beauty you created of the Earth. Thank you for the time to slow down and enjoy family and friends.
