The Season is Here

Well, we are getting to the point in the Christmas season that if it isn’t done by now, it won’t be done at all. I was looking at some things on Amazon the other day, and they aren’t even promising Christmas delivery anymore. If Amazon can’t get it done by Christmas, I’m fairly certain I won’t either.

I am thankful once again, that even though our world says we need to have it all together, I don’t have to. Or at the  very least, it’s not a huge surprise that I don’t. I am thankful for the forgiveness for the things I fall short on each day, and the fact that while I love Christmas, it’s not about the gifts and decorations.

It’s about that special baby we celebrate on Christmas. It’s about the fact that he left everything for us in order to secure our future for eternity. The presents and decorations are fun, but they are the extras. We can rest in the fact that our lives, and all of our days to come, have been bought and redeemed. We can enjoy the Christmas season, and all of the things that come with it knowing we are loved even if we can’t keep up with all of the things going on around us.
